I can't believe it's been over a month since I blogged, since I've created anything! Today, I'm sharing something a tad different. I attempted to make a gift bag and, I have to say, I loved creating it! It doesn't sound like a lot of fun, or at least to me it didn't, but I LUUUUUUUVED making it!
I love the pink against the cool colors. Pretty cute, huh?
And I'm back with yet another post. I'd be so proud if I continued at this pace. Anyway, here is another card I created today for two challenges: the Avery Elle August challenge and the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge. I used the sketch from the Avery Elle challenge and the colors were pulled from the Tuesday Trigger.
And here's what I created:
I used vellum for the sentiment banner.I tried to add the polka dots on the cupcake liner with a toothpick and the little sugar speckles with my paper scorer. You can't really see the sheen from the glossy accents on the flower so here's a bit of close-up.
I really love this card. It looks so much better than I had imagined it.
Tada! I am back. Bet you didn't expect me back so soon:) I'm back with a new card that I created for the Mama Elephant challenge as well as the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. Here is the inspiration photo and the sketch:
And here's the end result:
How cute is that little giraffe? I absolutely love the lil' fella.
Hello everyone! I guess this whole thing about being regular at blogging isn't really happening. I haven't been creating much lately so haven't had anything to share. Today, I finally went through some of the challenges and I made something for the Paper Smooches challenge. It was inspired by a project Jennifer created for Hero Arts. Here's what I came up with:
I really like the colors that were picked for this challenge.I think they were perfect for the card. The only thing I think is missing is some glitter on the colored leaves. I've been eyeing the Wink of Stella pen for a while but I think it's about time I bought one. It would definitely be useful, especially at times like these when I'm travelling and can't decide what to take (and make sure I don't add extra weight by packing too many supplies.)
Over at Pretty Pink Posh, everyone's celebrating the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge's 1st birthday! How cool! I love the challenges that are provided here. So in order to celebrate the 1st birthday, I created this card here:
Hey guys, Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I saw the Paper Smooches challenge a few days ago and kept procrastinating about what to make. So many ideas came to my mind. However, here is what I ended up making. I used the colors from the photo for the background and the circle with the sentiment was inspired by the sun.
Hi guys, Today I have a card that I've been putting off on making but finally made it for the Lawnscaping Challenge.
Isn't it adorable? I love the way the owl is standing on the wreath. How adorable is he? As you can tell, there was some paper piecing done:) I also added some glossy accents to the hearts and then finished off the card with some twine. Thanks for visiting. .
Hello! I'm sorry I've been MIA for a short while. But I am back now:) I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun long weekend. It's funny that I made a card for the 4th of July, but after-the-fact. LOL! Anyway, here it is:
I've never made a 4th of July card before, but I love the colors on this card! I love the vellum jar, the white polka dots from Paper Smooches and the red on top of the blue:) I really didn't think I could pull it off. And guess what? This card was made in 9 min and 40 seconds. Not bad! I wanted to add a few more faux-stitching lines to the stars so that there would be 2-3 lines all the way to the center, but I ran out of time.
Exciting news! Some of you may remember the "Party Seal" card I created last week. Thank you for those of you who stopped by and left comments:) For those of you who didn't get a chance to see the card, here it is:
Well, this card got picked for Honorable Gnome over at the Lawnscaping blog. Woo hooooooooo!
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I wish I could create and post some of the challenges up earlier, but currently I'm struggling with finding time during the week. Hopefully that will change soon. Anyway, here's the card I made for the Paper Smooches Cool Shades challenge:
The watercolor you see is actually on vellum. I used distress inks (Lemonade and Peacock Feathers) and allowed them to blend to form that green color in the center. The photo doesn't pick up on how gorgeous it looks against the white!
Here were the colors that were used for the challenge:
